Summary
Module 10
Module 10 of the book has a lot to do with data.
It has to do with the terminology around gathering data and whether data is structured or not.
A lot of the module is about the terminology and explaining about it.
A lot of the terms used are ones that I have not seen before even after going through a class recently about databases.
I did think it was interesting in a way, but that is mostly because I like looking at things involving numbers.
Data visualization was not talked about much in the book, in my opinion, but I already feel like it’s straightforward enough.
Much of the rest of the terms seem to be things that are second nature at this point from Fundamental Counting Theorem to Pattern Recognition.
It is nice to see that those things can be of use when working with data, however.
To me, Module 10 feels like it’s reiterating things that people have seen quite a bit in their schooling.
There might be different terms for it but, fundamentally, it is familiar.
It does make Module 10 a relaxing read as it felt like it brushing up on an old topic.
The data structures shown later in the chapter are, in some ways, confusing but not.
First in, last out and first in, first out seem easy to remember.
Linked list feel like using functions in programming to me.
And binary trees reminded me a lot of using if and switch statements.
So, for me, Module 10 was a pleasant read.
