Summary
Module 9
Module 9 of the book was about e-commerce.
This chapter was not as interesting, to me, as the last few because e-commerce is something that’s normal nowadays.
Buying things off Amazon is something that I regularly do if there’s anything that I want or need.
I do it so often that there are times when I’m in a store, see the price of a book or movie collection, and decide to look for it on Amazon to see if it costs less there.
Sometimes I’ll also buy things off eBay, but to a lesser extent since I usually get pre-owned games there.
The security of websites and digital wallets is always on my mind.
I keep track of my spending by looking at transaction history through my bank every couple of weeks to check for inconsistencies.
For instance, I’ve made accounts on Paypal twice and deleted them both times because of my concerns with their security.
This seemed to have come in handy since Paypal was hacked in the last year.
While I buy things online, I try to never save my credit card information on any sites or apps that I use because I think to myself that anything can be hacked and my information can be stolen.
