Summary
Module 3
Module 3 of the book was interesting in a way that was different from Module 2.
Searching through the web is something that I tend to do a few times I week.
It’s just one of those things done automatically when I want to know something, especially if it has to do with my spelling of a word.
I automatically use Google when I search through the web and haven’t used other search engines in some time.
I used to because I considered that the other search engines gave different results, and it’s something that I’ve begun to think about more and more recently.
Reading in the book how search engines are different and provide different results did bring this back to mind.
It makes me think of the times I’ve had to write research papers and only used one search engine, when using multiple could have been helpful.
I also never knew about using logical operators when using a search engine.
I do hope to use that the next time I need to search up specific subjects.
I have noticed quite a few times how it can be hard to look up things about animals without a sports team, news organization, or car manufacturer being most of the results.
So, I do hope that the next time I search up ‘fox’, I’ll remember to use the NOT operator.
